Privé Cafe

Privé is located on an island - Keppel Island which has several restaurants such as the Grill, Waterfront Bar and the Cafe.

It has a super breathtaking view with the blue sky and waters, with yatchs docking there. I usually take a cab from VivoCity in as it is quite inaccessible if you do not have a car. It is about 1 or 2 bus stops down from Vivo and you have to take a 15 minutes walk in.

It has indoor and outdoor seatings and i would prefer the outdoor seatings as you would be able to enjoy the scenery while eating. It is better to make a reservation as the place is usually packed. Great place to celebrate birthdays, have a romantic date and even baby-friendly!

The awesome view!

Eggs Royale ($16)
Definitely must try! Super yummy! Eggs benedict on smoked salmon.

DIY Omelette ($15)
 It was so-so.

Homestyle pancakes ($13)
The pancakes were slightly dry, didn't really enjoy it.

Their brunch menu is only served from 9.30am-5pm. They have their menu and prices on their website! Check it out!

Sticky date pudding ($12)
Their sticky date pudding was so awesome!!! By far the best i've tried, better than Marmalade Pantry's i feel. Apparently, it is one of the popular/award-winning dishes as written on its website.

After having a satisfying meal, it's time to walk around to enjoy the view and take some photos :)

Night view

After visiting it again after 8 months, the sauce for their sticky date pudding has decreased so much (it used to be a pool)!!! And the scoop of ice cream became smaller too :( (Scroll up to compare)

No more brunch menu as we went there for dinner, thus we had to order their main course.
Bad Ass BBQ Burger ($26)
It was good! But as we sit indoor this time round, the aircon was so strong and the food turned cold very easily.
The Moroccan Spiced Chicken ($20) was really nice too but i didn't take a photo of it.

Fish & Chips ($19)

Golden Buttermilk Soft Shell Crabs ($14)
Thought the sauce would be like those crab ones but it was way different :(

As usual, a photo with the awesome scenery and i love my leopard aztec dress!

Paris Baguette

Paris Baguette is one of the must-trys i would say! Visited twice so far. Located at Wisma Atria Level 2 (replaced Din Tai Fung), it is easily accessible and i like the ambience there. It is spacious and they have really cosy seats! I usually sit there for 1.5-2 hours. It is free seating so you can just find any seats and sit down first before going to the counter to order. The brunch and beverages are in the menu at the entrance while sandwiches, salads, breads, cakes and puddings are to be ordered over the counter.

Though it is named Paris Baguette, it is actually from Korea. Some of the staffs are actually Koreans!

I couldn't really remember the prices so i'll just give a rough gauge.

The very cool-looking kitchen

The tarts look so yummylicious!

From left to right:
Chocolat Blanc ($2.50) - Bread filled with white chocolate. It was a generous amount of white chocolate filling and it was creamy and flowy inside, but it was nothing special and too expensive for that small little bread!
Sweet Potato Cake (around $7.50) - Unique taste, it is my first time trying sweet potato cake and i've always wanted to try because of Seohyun as she is so crazy over sweet potatoes! The taste is quite light and not too sweet.
Royal Pudding, Original flavour (around $4-4.50) - The HIGHLIGHT. A must-try!!! It is damn awesome!!! It has 3 flavours, original, white chocolate and mango, but original is still the best. It is so smooth and taste damn nice and i have never tasted something like that anywhere else. But if you don't like sweet stuff you'd probably not like it. Comes in a cute bottle but it is actually quite pricey for such a small bottle. But i'm willing to pay!
Marron Mont Blanc cake ($8.50 if i'm not wrong) - Looks super yummy and pretty but it was nothing fanciful! Quite disappointed. The outer covering tasted like noodles and i remember there was a chocolate coating on the inside.

From left to right:
Wake Up Jane (around $6) - Somewhat like a breakfast bread, with sausage, cheese, seaweed and egg. Tasted normal. It would've been better if the waitress helped us heat up a little longer.
Seafood chowder (around $6.50 or more) - The waitress should have heated up a bit longer as well! It wasn't hot at all and it wasn't soupy on the inside as well. Lots of ingredients though but there are nicer seafood chowders out there.

Apple Pastry (around $4) - It was not bad, lots of apples and raisins, but also, would've been nicer if it was heated up a bit longer. Cold pastries are never nice. And the sides were hard.

Original and White Chocolate Pudding. Shared 1 with my friend when i went during the first time, but wasn't satisfying at all! So i had 2 to myself on my second visit hahaha. Because the original was so yummy and i wanted to try the white chocolate one as well. But i still like original better!

Saving the best for the last........... Introducing the Bacon Croissant Brunch ($17)!!!
It has croissants, mushrooms in cream sauce, bacons, potato wedges and greens. This is definitely one of the best brunch that i have ever tasted!!! (So far, the best brunch that i have tasted are this, Food for Thought, Dean&Deluca and Prive.) The croissant was so soft and sweet, i can never get enough of it. The mushrooms in cream sauce are simply addictive and a great pair with the croissant. The bacon is cooked just nice and so soft that you won't have troubles chewing it and wedges, yeah just hot and crispy. Must must must try if you are eating there, you won't regret!

The next time i visit again, i'm gonna try the strawberries and cream crepe cake. I heard it's nice!!!

Chye Seng Huat Hardware

Heard many recommendations by people about Chye Seng Huat Hardware, which looks like a hardware shop but it is actually a cafe. It is situated along all the other hardware shops which are really hardware shops and it seems so ulu on the outside, but once we got in, woah it was almost full house! I read online, they actually have an Annex bar at the back of the cafe where customers can order specially chosen coffee tasting menus for them to taste and appreciate coffee. So cool! It was a 15 minutes walk from Lavender MRT which is quite easy to get there as long as you follow the google maps.

The entrance looks so vintage right?! You wouldn't have expected it to be a cafe.

The actual entrance

Espresso+Milk ($5.50)
Famous for its coffee, we definitely have to give it a try! Indeed, it tastes so different from other cafes'. It is very rich and thick and has this unique taste.
Heard many good recommendations about the cold brew that comes in a 'chinese medicine like bottle' only after i've visited so i didn't get to try :( try it if you guys are there! I'll try it the next time.

Patrick's Platter ($16)
We ordered this without even knowing what are all those meat haha. We just ordered because we saw recommendations on the net. It was tasty though, but i feel that it isn't worth the price.
After checking online, i found out that it is actually Pork Rilette, Duck terrine and Parma ham.

Creme Brulee ($6.50)
It was surprisingly good! Not very very special, but not too sweet and not too oily. Worth the price since it is such a big serving!

With the bestie, who loves eating good food and trying out new food places together! :))

Won 2 tickets to watch SMTOWN Live In Tokyo 3D Movie Premier so we headed to watch after that! The movie was so short, only 100 mins :( Not shiok at all. 'I AM' was so much better!

Our ootd

Tis' the season to be jolly~ Christmas trees are everywhere! Can't help but to snap a pic with it :)

The birth of this blog.

Hi everyone!

Many of my friends had been asking me to do up a food blog since i love eating and trying out good food and new places often, i've finally set up one after much procrastination. And here is my first post! There are simply too many new food places opening in Singapore recently so there will never be places to run out to visit! The thing is, i love all types of food, no matter is it all-day breakfast, jap, korean, western or cakes, thus i will be trying different types of cuisines and share it with you guys. I will also blog about my travelling experiences or some other stuff that happens in my life too. So, stay with me and i will try my best to update frequently!

With love,
Jiamin.
