PARK @ Holland Village & Sunday Folks

PARK cafe, a cafe by the day, a bistro by the night.

I heard from my friend that they serve rather good brunch so I went in the day to try their brunch menu that day, and they have quite an extensive choices of food and drinks! Ranging from Sandwiches - Burgers - Appetisers&Salads - Side Orders - Pancakes/Crepes - Pasta - Breakfast(available till 5pm) - Desserts........ I love their decor which combines of modern yet antique furnitures, and they display a range of their alcohols at the counter. It is located near the Holland Village MRT exit, near Xin Wang HK Cafe & Hatched.

Tempura Egg ($16.50). This is the first time i tried a DEEP FRIED half cooked egg. Have you ever heard of that? How cool is that! It is topped with home-made hollandaise sauce & wasabi sauce, which makes it even more perfect. I love the toast that accompanies it, which taste sweet. The bacon was not too hard, mushrooms were okay but the roast potatoes have a tad too much spices.

Mentaiko Cream Pasta ($17.50) in the background. I could barely taste the mentaiko in the pasta, it just tasted like normal cream sauce. But the prawns and poached egg were nicely done.

 Flowy egg yolks, PASS.
I would recommend trying their breakfast menu if you're heading there.

 Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Sunday Folks

If you have not already know, Sunday Folks is a new dessert place located at Holland Village, Chip Bee Gardens. You have to walk past all the shops at the shophouses before you reach the shop. I have seen many people posting their waffles and soft serve ice cream on instagram and I was dying to try it!!! I heard that it is a sister company of Creamier, which also serves great waffles+ice cream.

The decor of the shop was very sleek, spacious and clean with an open concept kitchen. Before they were even open at 4pm, there were already lots of people waiting outside. Once the doors were opened at 4pm, everybody rushed in to get a seat. Luckily my friend was there to get a table for us first, as when we reached at 4.10pm, the whole shop was fully seated already.

Besides waffles & ice cream, they sell home baked cakes as well! How i wish i had the tummy to squeeze in some cakes...

Seasalt Gula Melaka ice cream in cone ($6.90). WOW i love this flavour. Even the cone tasted damn good!

And the star product: Waffles with Earl Grey Lavender ice cream ($10.50). This is the first time i see waffles topped with soft serve ice cream instead of scoop ice cream. But soft serve melts much faster, hence the melty ice cream in the above pic. I love the flavours of the ice cream, it tasted so special and the waffles were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.

I can't wait to go back there again to try other ice cream flavours and the cakes!!! And i actually really love the cone ice cream.

Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ Restaurant

I have not blogged for more than a year, and I have decided to revive this blog since I have the mood to blog right now! I had been way too busy to update this blog :(

Went for dinner with my friends @ Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ restaurant tonight as I have read several good reviews online about this restaurant and how authentic it is hence we have decided to try it for ourselves!

Please take note that there are 2 outlets and they are located very near each other! One is located at 98 Amoy Street and one is located at 22 Cross Street. Both are walkable from Telok Ayer MRT Station (Downtown Line). We went to the one at Cross Street and I guess it was not as crowded as the one at Amoy Street. We made a reservation and when we reached there, we were showed to our seats immediately. There were no queue outside and the restaurant was pretty spacious and air-conditioned! The tables were also spacious, unlike the one we went at Superstar K Korean BBQ restaurant. Oh, and you can also place your bags and belongings inside your chair. You can just lift the lid of the chair up and dump all your things inside, it acts like a rubbish bin haha!

I have seen blog reviews about this restaurant serving eggs on the sides of the hotplate, which i think is a very innovative idea! And so far this is the only restaurant i have seen doing it like this. They usually serve the steamed eggs.

My friend ordered the cold buckwheat noodles. I thought the taste was not bad, but ingredients and serving were too little.

Marinated prime rib ($28), Marinated chicken ($18) [this was highly recommended by many people!], Pork belly ($18), Marinated Shoulder Loin ($18).

I personally loved the marinated prime rib and marinated chicken. They were so so good! The marinate was just nice and so tasty. Must order!

Although i didn't take a picture of their side dishes, but their kimchi was daebak!

Kim Chi Pancake ($18). It was such a huge serving and we couldn't even finish it! We could only finish 2/3 of it.

The pricing here is also reasonable, we spent around $33 per pax. It may seem expensive but I think this is the average pricing for Korean BBQs.
